“Your past does not define you, your future does”
The quote said somewhere,
But actually no, none of them define you,
It is who you are at the moment which defines you at this moment,
We all change, too quietly to be caught by our own attention,
And too quickly to resemble back with our own existence moments ago,

It is like writing it all down on a paper with ink in rains,
Or over the span of the wing near a river brink,
Or it is like a twig attached to that pigeon’s leg,
Or a more abstract one,
It is like a fleet of thoughts you have in a moment,

A few seconds ago you were there lying down on the floor,
Calm cold floor, at peace, with people around chatting,
And just a few moments later you turn back,
And it is all vacant, they are all gone,
Nothing is there to stay, and so not are you,

It is all too uncertain the future, it is all too bleak the past,
But right now, this moment, it is yours to live through
